ENDING: Writers of the Future

The Writers of the Future is for science fiction and fantasy short stories or novellas of up to 17,000 words by any unprofessional author. This contest is known for boosting the careers of new authors. Prize is $500-$1000, a story illustration, and a one-week stay in Los Angeles for the Writers of the future Workshop and awards ceremony (with flight paid), plus a chance at a $5000 additional annual prize. This contest is quarterly. Please note that the contest is largely funded by the Church of Scientology, per its relationship with L. Ron Hubbard; however, as a past winner, I (Mica) will vouch for them. They’re not out to convert you.
