This contest is known for boosting the careers of new authors. Prize is $500-$1000\, a story illustration\, and a one-week stay in Los Angeles for the Writers of the future Workshop and awards ceremony (with flight paid)\, plus a chance at a $5000 additional annual prize. This contest is quarterly. Please note that the contest is largely funded by the Church of Scientology\, per its relationship with L.
