ENDING: Creative Writing Institute Flash Fiction Contest

The Creative Writing Institute Flash Fiction Contest is for flash fiction of up to 1000 words by any author. Prize is $25-$100 and web publication. Story must include the phrase “it’s been ten years since….” NOTE: this contest’s rules state “No LGBTQ” and give no reason for it. It appears the editor is rejecting this subgenre for religious reasons (although this is not 100% certain), but as I can’t find any explicit hateful commentary relating to the event, I am still posting this. Freedom of speech goes both ways, and it’s the editor’s right to curate her accepted genres. However, I would like to state that Free Writing Events fully supports LGBTQIA+ and would not enter this contest myself.
