Don Lorah asked me a few questions for the “Sunshine Blogger Award”. Per Don’s Blog Post:
The Sunshine Blogger Award is a “get to know the writer better” type of blogging exercise, with a couple of rules attached:
1. Answer all 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.2. Nominate eleven bloggers in return and write eleven (possibly fiendish) questions for them to answer.

My Answers to Don’s Questions:
1. If you couldn’t write, how would you convey your stories?
Playing stories out in my head to whatever music I’m hearing. Or manga. Or interpretive dance.
2. Favorite type of music or favorite band/artist?
Instrumental with a twist. Or Dessa. Or Awolnation’s first album. I’m eclectic.
3. Where is your ideal place to live?
Michigan with cheaper car insurance. So, Oregon? Or Switzerland, if I could take all my family with me. Free schooling for everyone. Also I’d hate it, but probably Japan. They have the best music, culture, and shows.
4. Worst character you’ve ever created? Which one did you like the least?
(For whatever reason; they were a bad character or you didn’t create them as well as you have liked.)
Ugh, there’s this girl Rayne from one of my books that I just cannot get right for the life of me. Toying with making her either bisexual or even transgender in the rewrite. She’s just too “poor me the world sucks” and that can work as a foil for other characters to a point, but no one wants to read (or write) that for long.
5. What genre would you never dabble in? Why?
Nonfiction. I can’t survive without making stuff up.
6. Who or what inspired you to become a writer?
Probably Philip Pullman with His Dark Materials, or J.K.Rowling (we have the same birthday).
7. Worse book you ever read? Why?
A self-published book with a title you would never recognize. Cliché. Oh my god, so unbearably cliché.
8. What career/job gives you the chills? (What job would hate to have? Just suck the life right out of you.)
Spent 3 years waiting tables. Would rather starve to death than do it again. Not an exaggeration. (And no, it’s not the customers. It’s the coworkers and management. If I wanted to never grow up, I’d huff some pixie dust.)
9. If you could cure the world of one ill; disease, social issue, etc… what would it be?
Overpopulation. Have YOU read Inferno by Dan Brown? Bone chilling. Seriously, stop having babies and start giving a dang about your planet, people.
10. Are you taking the traditional root to publication or untraditional? Why?
Route. Sorry. Trying for traditional at the moment, but I accept the possibility of failure and will hire a professional editor and cover artist if needed. Why? Because I am going to get my story read. As long as it gets read, not ignored, and hopefully improved upon, I don’t care how it gets where it’s going.
11. Favorite activity outside of writing?
Besides reading until I can’t keep my eyes open? Club dancing. I’m actually really good.
My Questions to Nominees:

1. What is one of your favorite character names from one of your favorite books?
2. What series did you devour as a kid?
3. What book line do you quote all the time? (And does anyone ever get the reference?)
4. If you could have dinner with any author, who would it be?
5. What has been your biggest challenge as a writer thus far? (If you’re a writer.)
6. What Twitter contest have you learned the most from, if any?
7. What book could you not finish because it was so dang bad?
8. What is your solution for world peace?
9. What country would you most like to visit?
10. What life hack or little-known trick do you use every day?
11. What word do you always find yourself overusing in your drafts?
Okay. Here goes
1) Rebecca From the book Rebecca
2) I was hooked on the Babysitter series by R L Stine
3) I am always quoting Shakespeare. To be or not to be.
4) Dinner with Poe
5) My biggest challenge is staying motivated even after receiving a rejection letter.
6) I entered pit wars but it didn’t do much. I didn’t find it helpful
7) uhm.. I will get in trouble for this.
8) Solution for world peace is for everyone to mind their own business.
9) Egypt because I want to see the pyramids.
10) I try to make my clocks five minutes faster so I don’t run late
11) just. Hate that word.
I need to think of 11 questions for 11 bloggers. I need time. 🙂
Oh, yeah! JUST always sneaks in! But it’s at least fairly easy to get rid of! I used to set my clocks a little fast, but they always seem to sneak back to running slow… I suspect the SO.
My responses are on my blog!
