DESCRIPTION:The Kelpies Prize is for children’s and young adult manuscripts by Scottish writers. Books must be set in Scotland or have Scottish themes. Any genre is accepted. \nSummary\nSubmit manuscripts of any genre\, as long as they are intended for children (30\,000-60\,000 words) or young adults (30\,000-70\,000 words). Manuscripts must be written by Scottish authors and have Scottish settings and/or themes. Judges are looking for “for a cracking story with strong characters\, believable dialogue and compelling atmosphere which will engage the target readership.” Prize is £2\,000 and publication by Floris Books. The submission window closes February 28th\, 2017. \nLinks\nThe original information pages for this Event can be found here and here.
